A deliberately small boarding experience with room to explore, thoughtfully chosen social time, real rest, and experienced dog professionals paying attention to what each dog needs.
WE BUILT TRAIL & CO. BECAUSE WE COULD NOT FIND THE PLACE WE WANTED FOR OUR OWN DOGS.
We wanted somewhere that felt good to leave them. Not just because we knew they were safe, but because we trusted the people caring for them to understand dogs, notice the details, and make good decisions for them while we were gone.
That place did not exist for us.
So we built it.
WE SHAPE THE DAY AROUND THE DOG IN FRONT OF US.
A day might include a long walk through the property, time to sniff and explore, a well matched dog to spend part of it with, or one on one time when that is the better choice. We also make room for enough downtime to recover.
Because we keep the group small and have 20 private acres to work with, we are not locked into one version of the day.
The right balance of movement, social time, individual attention, and rest looks different from dog to dog.

every part of the stay.
That background shapes how we read behavior, manage social interactions, and recognize when a dog needs something a little different.
A dog may need more movement, more space, a different social match, a quieter afternoon, or simply more time to settle.
