A few things worth knowing before your dog stays with us.
BEFORE YOUR DOG STAYS

Most do. Dogs who are new to Trail & Co. spend a full day with us before their first overnight stay. Dogs who have completed training through Skye’s the Limit Dog Training can skip the First Stay because we already have useful context from their training history.
For everyone else, the First Stay gives your dog a chance to experience Trail & Co. without staying overnight and gives us time to get to know them before you leave them with us for several nights.
The First Stay is $130. If Trail & Co. is the right fit, your dog can begin booking overnight stays from there.

No. Trail & Co. is open to dogs outside of Skye’s the Limit Dog Training.
Dogs who have completed training through Skye’s the Limit can skip the First Stay because Trail & Co. already has a stronger starting point for understanding their history, handling, and care needs. They also receive a preferred boarding rate of $115 per night and priority booking for high demand dates.
All other dogs begin with a First Stay before their first overnight reservation and board at the standard rate of $130 per night.

No. Dogs do not need to enjoy group play to stay at Trail & Co.
Social time is chosen based on the individual dog. Some dogs may enjoy spending part of the day with a well matched dog or small group. Others may be more comfortable with one on one time, individual outings, or simply sharing space without being expected to interact.
Group play is never a requirement for staying here.

We do not expect dogs to be perfect. Nervousness, overexcitement, selectivity around other dogs, or difficulty settling does not automatically mean Trail & Co. is not a fit.
What matters is whether we can safely and comfortably care for your dog in our environment. We look at each dog individually, and if their behavior requires a level of training or management beyond what boarding should provide, we may recommend working with Skye’s the Limit Dog Training before they stay with us.

No. Your dog does not need to arrive fully crate trained.
Dogs sleep individually in crates overnight, and we may also use crates during the day for uninterrupted rest. If your dog is not already comfortable in one, we can help introduce the crate and build that comfort during their time with us.
What matters is that we can safely help your dog settle into that routine without significant distress or unsafe behavior.

Crates give each dog a predictable space of their own where they can fully rest without another dog entering their space or asking anything from them.
They also let us protect sleep, separate dogs safely when needed, and make sure every dog gets real downtime between the more active parts of the day.
We do not use crates to simply contain dogs. We use them as one part of creating balance, safety, and recovery throughout the stay.

Yes. We accept intact males and females as long as they are otherwise a good fit for Trail & Co.
Females cannot stay while actively in heat. Being intact may also affect how we manage social time, and we make those decisions based on the individual dogs involved.

We require a current rabies vaccination and current DHPP or equivalent core vaccination. We accept titer testing in place of vaccination where appropriate.
We do not require Bordetella or canine influenza vaccines.
Dogs should arrive healthy and without signs of contagious illness. If something is going on medically, let us know before their stay so we can determine whether boarding is appropriate.
WHILE YOUR DOG IS HERE

Trail & Co. is capped at 15 dogs.
That is our maximum capacity, not the size of a playgroup. Dogs are not managed as one large group. We use the space we have to keep social groups small, give dogs individual time when they need it, and separate dogs throughout the day based on what makes sense for them.

At night, dogs sleep individually in crates so each dog has a predictable, protected space of their own.
During the day, rest looks different depending on the dog. Some settle on a bed near us, some spend quiet time in their own outdoor space, and others need uninterrupted crate rest between activities.
We do not keep dogs going all day. Part of caring for them well is knowing when they need to stop, settle, and recover before the next part of the day.

Yes. The dogs stay in our home with us, so someone is on the property overnight whenever dogs are boarding.
Trail & Co. is not a facility that empties out at the end of the day. The dogs are part of our home environment while they are here, with individual sleeping spaces and someone nearby overnight.

Yes. We can follow your dog’s normal feeding routine, including raw food and supplements, and we can give routine medications as directed.
Dogs do need to be healthy enough for boarding. If your dog has an active illness, a medical condition that requires close monitoring, or care needs beyond what we can safely provide during a normal stay, we will talk with you about whether Trail & Co. is the right setting for them.

Yes. We send a direct update every other day so you know how your dog is settling in and how their stay is going.
We also share photos and videos from life at Trail & Co. on Instagram, so you may see your dog there between direct updates.

If we notice a meaningful change in your dog’s health or behavior, we will contact you and let you know what we are seeing.
If veterinary care is warranted, we will work with you to get your dog seen. In a true emergency, we will not delay necessary care while waiting to reach you.
We would rather communicate early and take something seriously than assume it will pass.
BOOKING YOUR STAY

Boarding is $130 per night, with a 2 night minimum.
Dogs who have completed training through Skye’s the Limit Dog Training receive a preferred rate of $115 per night.
Pickup during our morning window is included in the final night of your reservation. If your dog stays through the afternoon pickup window, that day is billed as an additional night.

Drop off and pickup are available during two set windows each day:
Morning: 7:30 to 9:00 AM
Afternoon: 4:30 to 6:00 PMYour drop off and pickup will still be scheduled for a specific agreed upon time within those windows. This helps us manage arrivals and departures without disrupting the dogs already here and protects uninterrupted time for care, activities, and rest throughout the day.

As soon as you know you need them. Trail & Co. is limited to 15 dogs at a time, so popular weekends, holidays, and other high demand dates may fill well in advance.
You are always welcome to request dates closer to your trip, and we will accommodate them when we have availability. If your plans are firm, though, we recommend requesting your stay early rather than waiting.

A 30% deposit is required to reserve your dog’s dates.
Deposits are nonrefundable. If your plans change more than 14 days before your stay, the deposit can be transferred to new dates within 6 months.
Within 14 days of the scheduled stay, the deposit becomes nontransferable.
Once a stay begins, the reservation is charged for the full dates originally booked. Early pickup does not reduce the total cost of the stay.
Because Trail & Co. keeps capacity intentionally limited, we recommend letting us know as soon as possible if your plans change.
