Before their first overnight stay, your dog spends a full day with us at Trail & Co.

They have time to meet our team, explore the property, and settle into being here. We have time to start getting to know them before they ever stay overnight.

We do not want the first time we really get to know your dog to also be the first time you leave them with us for several nights.
A day together takes some of the unknown out of that first overnight. Your dog has already been here and spent time with us, and we have already had the chance to learn a little about them.
When they come back, it is not all new anymore.
Your dog arrives during our morning drop off window, between 7:30 and 9:00 AM. We keep the handoff simple, then give them time to take in the property, meet us, and settle before moving into the day.
From there, they spend a real day with us. That may mean exploring the property, one on one time with our team, social time if it makes sense, and plenty of time to rest in between.
You pick them up during our afternoon window, between 4:30 and 6:00 PM. The goal is not to fit everything into one day. It is to give your dog enough time to experience being here without making their first visit an overnight one.
We are not looking for perfect behavior. We are getting to know what your dog is like here.
Throughout the day, we pay attention to how they settle after you leave, how they respond to the property and our team, what they enjoy, what makes them unsure, how they feel around other dogs, and how well they settle again after activity.
Those details help us understand what will make their future stays better and whether Trail & Co. is the right environment for them.
At pickup, we will share what we noticed throughout the day and what we recommend next.
For most dogs, the next step is overnight stays. Sometimes we may want another day together first. Occasionally, we may decide that a different boarding environment would be better for that dog.
When they come back, we already have a better sense of how to care for them.
